This yeast and nutrient bundle contains everything needed to start and maintain a healthy fermentation. The 1 lb. package of Distillers Active Dry Yeast (DADY) provides a specially selected yeast strain designed for distilling grain mash fermentations. It can produce maximum alcohol yields under 90F, and has been used by North American producers for over 20 years to make spirits and whiskeys. The 3.5 oz jar of food-grade yeast nutrient nourishes the yeast throughout the fermentation process. It is a mixture of diammonium phosphate and urea that wine, beer, mead and cider producers recommend adding at 1 tsp per gallon. Using these components together allows the yeast to rapidly convert sugars into alcohol while staying vigorous. The DADY is ideal for fermentations under 15% ABV, while the nutrient prevents stuck fermentations by satisfying nutritional requirements. With the right yeast and nutrient combination, you can achieve a healthy, complete fermentation for your distilled spirits.
